Hello! My name is Jenni. I am a wife, mother of two and I specialize in Newborn Photography.
I am a third generation photographer. My grandmother always had her camera in hand, her love was nature photography, and I loved watching and helping my father in his darkroom, he has a love for black and white photography.
Past careers include Home Care Nurse (six years), Legal Assistant (three years) and Transportation Coordinator and Family Provided Registrar for the Durham Region Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society (seven years).
I love the sound of children giggling, watching romantic comedies, camping with my family, eating sushi, and working with twins and multiples :)
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY QUALIFICATIONS & WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT:
I come to YOU! Traveling with a newborn is never easy. Sessions are held in the warmth, comfort and safety of your home. It is the place that is familiar and comforting to you, your family and your new baby. I bring everything needed for the session, as though you were in a studio.
Qualifications ~ Safety is my top priority!!
In person Newborn Safe Posing training:
At the Uncommon Creative Photography Conference 2018, I attended workshops by Jessica Nip of Jessica Nip Photography, Ali Beck of Glow Portraits, Stephanie Robin of Stephanie Robin Photography, Bryan Caporicci of Bryan Caporicci Photography, and Katie Andelman of Katie Andelman Photography.
Online, I have completed an online course through APNPI on newborn safety. Completed two of the Milky Way Online Newborn Retreats, the Anna Brant Twin Newborn Photography Course, The Kelly Brown Online Newborn Retreat, and various other courses run by Creative Live and Click n Moms.
My experience goes beyond knowing how to use natural lighting and taking beautiful newborn photography, I am formally trained in safe baby posing and have successfully completed the APNPI's Newborn Photography Safety Course. I have worked with well over 300 newborns and am regarded as an expert with Preemies and Multiples. The Nickname I have been given by most of my clients is "The Baby Whisperer" and I now proudly wear that name on my mask!
Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C Certification are up to date, with over 10 years experience in the medical field and I have a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check completed yearly.
I am an Accredited and Qualified member of the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI) in both Newborn Posed Photography and Maternity Photography; an approved member of the International Association of Professional Photographers; listed on Best Newborn Photographers' directory; and I have been named one of Ontario's Top Newborn Photographers by Photography Magazine for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
I have been mentoring new and experienced photographers for four years. Offering 1:1 hands-on mentoring sessions in the field of Newborn Posed Photography with a concentration on safe baby posing.
